What Power Rating Are Our Camping Appliances, And Where Can We Use Them?

In our recent post on the available heating methods, whilst camping, we also took a look at their respective power outputs, and how this impacted on the electricity supply of the camp site involved.

This naturally brought us on to the subject of the various appliances we take with us when we go camping, which ones we can use, and in what combinations. To give a little guidance on this, we have put together a list of those main appliances, together with their average power usage, and details of how to calculate the total power you can use on the various sites’ electric hookups.

Of course, these are just averages, and the specific power ratings of each appliance you have should be clearly shown on the appliance itself, or, at least, in the associated paperwork, but it should, hopefully, give you a basic understanding of what appliances you can expect to be able to use at any given site.
